The $tock Our $helves Walk was held this year on Saturday, October
2nd from the Monsignor Hackett Hall at Immaculate Conception Church, East Weymouth. It was started 15 years ago for just that purpose - to stock our shelves for the coming winter.
Once back at the Monsignor Hackett Hall after the short two-mile walk, the excitement of raffles, prizes and refreshments began. It was a fun day for all and raised more than $50,000 of needed funds to provide food for the coming holidays.
Our Grand Prize Winner, Regina Dembowski, had a choice of two trips, one to DisneyWorld, the other to Las Vegas, or $2,000 cash. The Grand Prize was donated (as it has always been) by Dunkin' Donuts, 1255 MAin Street, South Weymouth.
The bicycle prize for the individual turning in the greatest amount in support pledges was awarded to Susan Maxwell.
The "door prize" bicycle awarded to one, randomly drawn, lucky registered walker went to Ann McFadd.
In addition, there were numerous drawings for a wide variety of prizes, merchandise and gift certificates generously donated by our sponsors. If you missed out on the fun this year, mark your calender to walk with us next year on October 1st, 2011. Maybe you'll be a Grand Prize winner.
