As you may have heard or read in our newsletter, The South Shore Savings Charitable Foundation will once again generously match up to $5,000 of Valentine gifts to the Weymouth Food Pantry. That means you can more than double your impact on hunger in Weymouth.

Your gift of $25, $50, $100 or more will immediately go twice as far to feed our needy Weymouth neighbors, and with the Food Pantry’s ability to obtain about $7 worth of healthy and nourishing food for every dollar donated, your donation will go even further.

More than 5,000 people in Weymouth live below the poverty level, and over 30% of these are the working poor. With your help, Weymouth Food Pantry has been able to provide emergency food assistance to more than 550 of those families every month. As the economy has worsened, the number of families we assist each month has grown. The cost of food has also increased. To meet this growing demand, we continue to need strong support from compassionate friends like you. We believe everyone has a role in ending hunger in Weymouth.
