We've still not heard back from a few schools. As more schools commit, we will add them here.

Adopt-A-Month is a program that was started 15 years ago in the Weymouth Public Schools by Elaine DeCosta, a retired Weymouth school teacher. Elaine continues to coordinate the Adopt-A-Month program for the Food Pantry.

Almost every school in Weymouth (both public and private) adopts a month to collect food for the Pantry. A typical donation from a school varies from about 500 pounds to 1500 pounds depending on the individual school enrolment. The program runs monthly from September to April with the exception of the months of November and December during which the Food Pantry typically receives generous organization and individual food donations.

In addition to the Adopt-A-Month program Weymouth High School conducts food drives for the Food Pantry at Halloween and Christmas, and has been very, very generous with its donations.

Both St. Francis and St. Jerome's Schools conduct continual year-round collections for the Food Pantry. Thanks!

The students, teachers and parents of Weymouth schools continue to be very supportive of this program. We are very thankful for their efforts as well as their generous donations.

The Johnson Early Childhood Center's collection for the food pantry was a great success. This picture shows only a portion of the proceeds. More than three times this quantity of food was collected at the center during their 10-day drive.
